What is Breast Reduction Surgery?

During the operation, fat, connective tissues, glandular tissues and a certain part of the skin tissue of the breast tissue are surgically removed from the body. In this process, excess fat tissue can also be specially removed with a technique such as liposuction. The removal of tissues takes place through certain incisions made on the skin.

In order to avoid leaving scars, the skin incisions hurt under the breast tissue in a way that cannot be seen easily and clearly, and can be healed cosmetically and aesthetically. In addition, a small incision is made around the nipple to give the appropriate shape and size to the breast tissue and to preserve the current nipple tissue. After the set amount of breast tissue is removed, the incisions are closed appropriately, the breast is given its final shape and the procedure is completed. Processing time varies between 2 and 4 hours. This procedure should be done at a certain level in people who are not yet married and have no children, in order to avoid damaging the breastfeeding ducts.

People who have this procedure stay in the hospital for 1 day. Heavy movements should be avoided and rest should be taken for the first 3 days after hospital discharge. Medicines prescribed by the doctor are used after the surgery.

Dressing times should never be increased. In the first 4 weeks after surgery, weights should not be lifted and strenuous physical activities should be avoided, however, movements such as pushing and pulling should be avoided.


A sports bra should be worn strictly for the period prescribed by the physician.

After this operation, no heavy sports should be done for 2 months. You can take light walks without tiring yourself. Because heavy and tiring movements cause bleeding and stitches to bleed. Tobacco and tobacco products should definitely not be used for 1 year because the use of these products delays the wound healing process and causes inflammation.
