What is Liposuction?

Liposuction is the process of removing fat using the vacuum method. It is generally applied to areas such as the abdomen, hips and hips, neck and arms. It is applied to areas where there is no weight loss and the fat does not decrease despite exercise. The procedure is carried out by vacuuming the fat under the skin with the help of tubes inserted through a few mm incisions in the skin. In this operation, fat cells are not completely destroyed, only the fat cells in the area are emptied and their volume is reduced. Liposuction is not a weight loss method. If no results can be obtained regarding the fat in the area despite using natural methods, this operation should be preferred. A maximum of 4-5 kg of fat loss can be achieved.

Depending on the amount of fat to be removed, it may take between 30 minutes and 6 hours.

There may be pain for the first 3-4 days after the surgery.

A corset is recommended to keep the fat removed area in shape and prevent it from sagging.
After the surgery, scars of less than 10 mm may remain. It loses its clarity completely over time.
It is not recommended for patients who are considering having children.

Hospitalization period is 1-2 days.
Incision scars in the bikini area are permanent, but turn into pink lines over time.
The recovery period is between 2 weeks and 2 months.
The patient is not recommended to be active for a while and situations that will strain the abdominal muscles. It should not carry a heavy load.
The use of an abdominal binding corset may be recommended after the surgery.
