Fat Transfer to Breast

Fat Transfer to Breast

What is the Breast Fat Transplantation?

Lipofilling describes the process of taking fat from one part of the body (the donor area) using a special technique, processing it and injecting it into another part of the body (the recipient area) for aesthetic or functional reasons. It often takes more than one session (procedure) to achieve the desired result. This is because the fat needs to establish a blood supply to its new "home" and if too much is injected at once, problems can occur. Therefore, to avoid complications, as much as is safe to inject at one time, but this is often not enough to achieve the final desired result in one session.

What type of anaesthesia is used in the fat transfer to breast procedure?

Small volume lipofilling can be performed under local anaesthesia (when you are awake), but it is usually performed under general anaesthesia (when you are asleep).

How is Breast Fat Transplantation surgery performed?

First of all, fat is taken from pre-approved areas such as the stomach, sides or thighs. This is done through very small incisions using a technique similar to liposuction.

The fat is then filtered and washed in saline to clean it and remove blood or excess fat. It is then drawn into syringes and injected through tiny 'knife cuts' into the desired location.

How long does the Breast Fat Transplantation surgery take?

The length of surgery depends upon the volume of fat to be transferred and may take between 1-3 hours.

What are the risks during the recovery period after the Breast Fat Transplantation surgery ?

Initially there will be bruising in the area from which the fat was taken (this can last for 2-4 weeks but will improve over time) and straw coloured fluid may temporarily ooze from wounds in the donor site. Wearing supportive pressure garments for 6 weeks after surgery may help to speed up the reduction of swelling at the fat insertion site.

What is the recovery period after Breast Fat Transplantation surgery ?

Most people will be able to return to work 1-2 weeks after surgery, but you may need more time if large volumes have been transplanted. Any discomfort and pain can be relieved with painkillers and walking carefully after surgery is recommended.

Who is the ideal candidate for breast augmentation with fat grafting?

The ideal candidates for breast augmentation with fat grafting are healthy women who want to increase their breasts without implants. At the same time, patients should only want to increase the size of their breasts by one or two sizes.

In order to be considered for fat transfer breast augmentation, patients must have sufficient body fat to be considered for fat grafting. Because some fat cells will not "take root", the doctor must collect more than enough fat to account for some cell death. Thinner patients may not be good candidates and may want to consider implants.

How much does a Butt implantation surgery cost?

It can vary significantly depending on multiple factors, including:

Country

Experience of the surgeon

Location of the procedure (office, surgery center, hospital)

Type of anesthesia used

*A low-cost Breast Fat Transplantation surgery  performed by an inexperienced surgeon who delivers poor results is not a good combination.
